WATANABE PASCOWITCH was founded in 2015 by professionals from one of Brazil’s most established law firms, with the goal of building a highly specialized business law practice focused on strategic litigation and legal counsel in sensitive matters of significant institutional relevance.
From our earliest months of operation, the firm was engaged in matters of considerable complexity and public exposure. Shortly after our formation, our partners took on one of the most significant litigation cases in the country’s recent history: the Fundão dam collapse in Mariana. We oversaw corporate interests across multiple institutional fronts, including proceedings before municipalities, the Minas Gerais and Federal Public Prosecutors’ Offices, the Federal Attorney General’s Office, and Public Defenders’ Offices. That early engagement was pivotal in establishing the firm’s vocation for high-stakes strategic litigation.
In the years that followed, the firm consistently expanded its involvement in major judicial and arbitral disputes, including proceedings related to high-profile nationwide investigations and complex commercial conflicts across multiple sectors of the economy. This practice further cemented our reputation for technically rigorous, responsible, and strategically sophisticated handling of sensitive litigation.
Throughout this journey, the firm underwent a natural process of maturation and institutional consolidation, with reorganization of its ownership structure and organic expansion of its practice areas. In 2019, already in a phase of significant growth, the firm relocated its headquarters to its current address in Vila Olímpia, occupying the upper floors of a dedicated corporate building – a move that reflected the firm’s sustained operational growth.
Today, after more than a decade of continuous practice, WATANABE PASCOWITCH maintains the identity it built through strategic litigation, alongside consolidated practices in tax law, corporate law, and advisory services, preserving the commitment to technical excellence, institutional responsibility, and long-term vision that have defined the firm since its formation.
